Judy paints a variety of types of paintings, from portraits of people and her beloved animals, to the fascinating and exotic places from her extensive travels.  Her paintings hang in many private and corporate collections.  For several years she worked with a commercial company drawing machinery and industrial vehicles, which found their way to many parts of the world.

Judy originally aspired to be an actress/singer and studied acting under Sanford Meisner and his assistant James (Jimmy) Doohan (whom she later married); dance with Martha Graham, Nina Fonoroff, Louis Horst & Eric Hawkins at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater in New York City.  Painting came later.  Self taught for many years, she more recently has come to realize that workshops and classes with noted artists keeps her “sharp” and up on new techniques, ideas and challenges.  She has studied with the amazing Chinese artist Jake Lee, Phyllis Solcyk, Tony Couch and also workshops in Hawaii (what fun!) and California with internationally known artist Timothy J. Clark.  She currently is studying with the talented  and noted artist Joe Cibere at the California Art Institute.

Judy is a juried member of the Valley Watercolor Society.  Her paintings are enjoyed in homes around the globe.  She is now offering a selection of unframed prints through this website and Harmony Color Gallery.

She was raised in Beaver, Pennsylvania and went to school in Washington DC and the University of Indiana. Then onto New York City, Toronto, Canada and then later to California.

Judy Randolph leads a full and interesting life.  Her past includes years as an operatic soprano soloist, as a watercolor artist and also as a mother of four children.  Now with 15 grandchildren and 2 great grands, she delights in using her large, beautiful family as subjects for her paintings.  She enjoys telling a story in her paintings.  Though she may be the only one who knows each story, she’d be happy to tell them to anyone who asks.
